We will face some sort of obstacle or two in every season of our lives, but there is a beautiful strategy in how to overcome each of them, and it’s called having faith in God.
You have probably heard the verse “We walk by faith and not by sight,” but have you actually tried and applied it to your circumstance? If so, you may have found it a bit hard to do- and that’s because we don’t always know how exactly to “let go and let God” (note: this is not a bible verse). Here are 3 short points in how to practice having faith and growing in it.
- Ground your faith in the facts of the bible, not in how u feel at that moment.
“Every word of God proves true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.”
“For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all He does.”
- Make sure ur faith goes beyond your rational understanding of the will of God. Trust even if u don’t understand!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
“Rejoice always, pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances: for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
˜1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
- Our faith requires daily nurture. Feed it with the word, prayer, and obedience.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
